The Yorktown PTA is proud to sponsor our local PTA Reflections Contest.

Membership in the Virginia PTA provides the opportunity to participate in the National PTA Reflections program which encourages students to explore the arts and express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Since it was founded in 1969 by Mary Lou Anderson, millions of students have benefited from this program.

Reflections Awards Program Students in Pre-K through grade 12 create theme-based artwork in dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography or visual arts.

The theme for the 2017–18 PTA Reflections Contest is “Within Reach” Students may begin brainstorming their creative projects to get a head start on Reflections next year! Entries may be turned in late October but take advantage of the SUMMER to start your projects now. More specific dates will be announced next school year. Please take part in Reflections, a program that celebrates art and creativity in our schools and students. Yorktown High School students produced award winning submissions in ALL categories as entries advanced to county levels. Continue the YHS Reflections tradition– brainstorm over the summer and reflect on the theme “Within Reach”.

See rules and entry information on the VA PTA website.
